Theudas
Holman Bible Dictionary
(thew duhss) Personal name meaning, “gift of God.” Acts 5:36 refers to a Theudas who was slain after leading an unsuccessful rebellion of 400 men prior to the census (A.D. 6). Josephus knew a Theudas who led an unsuccessful rebellion during the consulate of Cuspius Fadus (about A.D. 44). Either two rebels are involved, or one of the historians incorporated an inaccurate source into his narrative.
