Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible
DOK . A fortress near Jericho, where Simon the Maccabee, along with two of his sons, was murdered by his son-in-law Ptolemy, 1Ma 16:15 . The name survives in the modern ‘Ain Dûk , 4 miles N.W. of Jericho.
