Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible
TEPHON . One of the towns in Judæa fortified by Bacchides ( 1Ma 9:50 ). Tephon was probably an old Tappuah; but whether it was Tappuah 1 or 2 , or Bethtappuah, is uncertain.
