1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Huntingdonshire, England. Founded in 969 by Ailwine, a Saxon noble, encouraged by Saint Oswald of York, and peopled with monks from Westbury (Worcester). Modney (Norfolk) and Saint Ives were dependent priories. At the Dissolution in 1539 it was resigned into the king's hands.
