Alzog, Johann Baptist

(1808-78) Priest and church historian, born Ohlau, Silesia; died Freiburg, Breisgau. He was professor of church history at Freiburg, and wrote "Manual of Church History," "Patrology," "Oration of Saint Gregory Nazianzus," and other works.
