Archiparaphonista
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
A chief officer of the man Schola Oantorum (school of singers). His duties included:
- choosing the chanters for a Pontifical Mass;
- preceding the pope and placing a kneeling-stool before the altar for him; and
- bringing the water to the sub-deacon during the celebration of Mass.
