Arculre
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
(Latin: dim, of arca, box)
Small boxes of gold or other precious metal worn suspended from the neck and probably used by the faithful to carry the Blessed Sacrament. They date from the 2century and were found in the Roman catacombs.
