1910 New Catholic Dictionary

(died 590) Bishop and confessor, born and died island of Bute, Scotland. Educated in Ireland under Saints Comgall and Kenneth, he became a monk, and went to Scotland as bishop among the Picts. He founded a monastery at Dunblane, on the site of which the cathedral of Dunblane now stands. His church was at Kingarth, Bute. His works include sacred hymns, instructions to catechumens, and pious writings. Buried at Kingarth, where many miracles are attributed to him. Feast, August 10,.
