1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Rome, a school founded and endowed by Gregory XIII for Greeks of any nation in which the Greek Rite was used. Begun, 1577, and entrusted to Jesuit direction, 1591, it was closed during the Revolution, reopened, 1849, and reorganized by Leo XIII, 1897.
