Emigrant Aid Societies
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Organizations which minister to the material or spiritual needs of emigrants. Their services are usually rendered gratuitously, although in some cases a nominal fee is exacted from those who can afford it. They are supported for the most part by voluntary contributions and membership dues.
