1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Founded, 1876, by the Benedictine, Dom Placid Walter, arch-abbot of the Beuron Congregation, and a party of monks driven from Germany; raised to an abbey, 1896. The community, severely depleted by the World War, disbanded, 1922, and the abbey passed to the Redemptorists.
