Excellency
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Title of patriarchs by a decree of the Congregation of Ceremonies, June 3, 1893, instead of "His Beatitude," which is reserved for the sovereign pontiff. The patriarchs had wrongly assumed the latter address, and in practise continue to both use and receive it.
