Born Grenoble, France, 1748; died Au-tshung-fu, China, 1820. Director of the internal seminary at mother-house of the Congregation of the Lazarists in Paris, he asked to be sent to China after the community had been disbanded by the Revolutionists. He was assigned, in 1791, to Kiang-Si, then to Hou Kouang where he labored ulltil he was martyred. Beatified, 1900. Feast, February 27,.
