1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Seat of the University of Oxford. It is the cathedral town of the Anglican diocese erected schismatically by Henry VIII. Prior to that time it formed part of the diocese of Lincoln, and upon the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy, was included in the diocese of Birmingham.
