Postcommunion

(Latin: post, after; communio, communion)
Part of the Proper of the Mass, a petition chanted or said by the celebrant at the Epistle side of the altar after the communion antiphon, usually combining an act of thanksgiving for the holy mysteries, and a plea for the graces they bring.
