The envy of Satan and his fallen hosts conspires against God and His reign over the souls of men. Lest the force of their spiritual attack from the "high places" be thought of too lightly, Saint Paul warns emphatically: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places" (Ephesians 6).
