James 4:14 (a) This describes the transient character of our lives. We live for a while and are known in the community, then we die, and we are soon forgotten. We move from one house to another part of the city, and in a very short time those in the old neighborhood forget that we ever lived there; even the name is forgotten. (See Lamentations 4:8).
