(a.) Inclined or tending to remonstrate; expostulatory; urging reasons in opposition to something.

(2):

(n.) one of the Arminians who remonstrated against the attacks of the Calvinists in 1610, but were subsequently condemned by the decisions of the Synod of Dort in 1618. See Arminian.
