1911 Encyclopedia Britannica

(Gr. S p ica, ten, and ariAos, column), the architectural term given to a temple where the front portico has ten columns; as in the temple of Apollo Didymaeus at Miletus, and the portico of University College, London. (See TEMPLE.)
