the twenty-fourth part of a civil day, the twelfth part of a natural day or night, a space of time of sixty minutes' duration. The word is derived through the O. Fr. ure, ore, house, mod. heure, from Lat. hora, Gr. %spa, season, time of day, hour (see Calendar).
