LEONARD OCHTMAN (1854-), American painter, was born in Zonnemaire, Zeeland, Holland, on the 21st of October 1854. - His family removed to Albany, New York, in 1866. In 1882 he began to exhibit landscapes at the National Academy, and he became a National Academician in 1904. His most characteristic pictures, which recall the work of Inness, are scenes on Long Island Sound and on the Mianus river.
