1911 Encyclopedia Britannica

Stands in a fine rice plain in 20° 9' N. and 97° 25' E. It had about 150 houses when it first submitted in 1887, but was burnt out by the Red Karens in the following year. It has since recovered. There are very fine orange groves a few miles south of the town at Kantu-awn, called Kadugate by the Burmese.
