an organ in Ciliate Infusoria, a flattened assemblage of adherent cilia, like the plates of Ctenophora: such are arranged in a series in the adoral wreath of the Heterothrichaceae Oligotrichaceae and Hypotrichaceae and constitute the posterior girdle of Peritricha.
