hil´el ( הלּל , hillēl , "he greatly praised"; Septuagint Ἐλλήλ , Ellḗl ): An inhabitant of Pirathon in the hill country of Ephraim, and father of Abdon, one of the judges of Israel ( Judges 12:13 , Judges 12:15 ).
