pḗ - lā´ya , pḗ - lı̄´a ( פּלאיה , pelā'yāh ):

(1) A son of Elioenai, of the royal house of Judah (1 Chronicles 3:24 ).

(2) A L evite who assisted Ezra by expounding the Law (Nehemiah 8:7 ), and was one of those who sealed the covenant with Nehemiah (Nehemiah 10:10 ). He is called "Phalias" in 1 Esdras 9:48 (Revised Version).
