Abo
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Lutheran archbishopric in Finland (q.v.). A bishopric was established in Abo in the thirteenth century, which, in 1817, was elevated by the Russian government to the rank of an archbishopric.
