(Heb., Anayah', עֲנִיָה , answered by Jehovah; Sept. Ἀνανίας, Ἀναϊ v α ), one of those who stood on the right hand of Ezra while he read the law to the people (Nehemiah 8:4), and probably the same with one of the chief Israelites who joined in the sacred covenant (Nehemiah 10:22). B.C. cir. 410.
