a Presbyterian minister, was born in Ashland County, O., April 10, 1835. He graduated at Jefferson College in the class of 1856, and entered the United Presbyterian Seminary in Allegheny at the opening of its next session. He was licensed as a minister in 1859, and received a call from the united congregations of Calcutta and East Liverpool, O., and was installed as pastor in April, 1861.
