Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(τὰ Ἀρίνδηλα ), an episcopal city of the Third Palestine of considerable importance, noticed in the early ecclesiastical lists (Reland, Palaest. p. 533, 581); identified by Dr. Robinson (Researches, 2, 496) with the site Ghurundel, near the south-east corner of the Dead Sea, consisting of considerable ruins on the slops of a hill, near a spring.
