Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was a native of Ireland. His early life is unrecorded. At the age of twenty he embraced religion; served as a class- leader several years in Montreal, Canada; in 1838 removed to Milwaukee, Wis., where he received license to preach; and in 1840 entered the Rock River Conference. In 1844 he became superannuated. lie held that relation until his death, by consumption, in 1849. Mr. Ash was a plain, practical, and useful preacher, a faithful pastor, and a deeply pious Christian.
