Asriel
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(Heb. Asriel', אִשְׂרִיאֵל, a fuller form of Asareel; Sept. Ε᾿σρίηλ ), a son of Manasseh (Joshua 17:2), apparently his first by a Syrian concubine
(1 Chronicles 7:14, where the name is improperly Anglicized "Ashriel"). B.C. post 1856. His descendants were called Asrielites (Heb. Asrieli, אִשְׁרִיאֵלִי; Sept. Ε᾿σριηλί, Numbers 27:31).
