Bagoses
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(Βαγώσης ), the general of Artaxerxes (probably Mnemon; the text, as emended by Hudson, has τοῦ ἄλλου Ἀρταξέρξου v. r. τοῦ ῎Αχου Ἀρτ .); he sacrilegiously entered the Temple at Jerusalem, and imposed oppressive taxes upon the Jews (Josephus, Ant. 11:7,1).
