Balanus (Ballvin, Or Ballonus)

a Christian saint celebrated on Sept. 3, is said by Colgan to have been brother of St. Gerald, and one. of the four sons of Cusperius, king of England. Balanus and his brothers accompanied Colman, bishop of Lindisfarne, to Iona, and retired with him into Connaught, in Ireland. Balanus took up his residence at Techsaxon, parish of Ath-na-riogh.
