a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Buncomb County, N. C., Nov. 29, 1836. H e was converted in early life; received license to exhort in 1859; in 1860 was licensed to preach and admitted into the Holston Conference, and served in its active ranks till his death, Nov. 8, 1864.
