Barnum, Caleb

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Presbyterian minister, was licensed by the Fairfield East Association May 30, 1759, and was ordained and settled pastor of a Congregational Church at Franklin, Mass. He remained here eight years, and then resigned on account of difficulties in the congregation. Early in the Revolutionary War Mr. Barnum was appointed chaplain in the western army, but died in camp in 1776. Mr. Barnum was admitted to an ad eundem-master's degree at Harvard in 1768.
