Bereshith
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(בְּרֵאשַׁית, in the beginning), the name given by the Jews to the book of Genesis, because it opens with this word in Hebrew.
is also the second part of the Jewish Cabala, and is so called from the first word which occurs in the book of God.
