Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in New York state, July 12, 1810. In 1832 he became missionary to the Cherokee Nation. He labored among that people until his death, June 28, 1867. Mr. Bertholf was a man of good sense, and was received everywhere as a zealous, faithful missionary.
