a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Albemarle County, Va., in 1815. He was converted at Salem when seventeen years of age, graduated at Randolph Macon College in 1837, and was admitted into the Virginia Conference in 1838. He was elected professor of mathematics in the Collegiate Institute of Buckingham County in 1840, received his master's degree in 1841, became superannuated in 1842, and died in Botetourt County, March 7, 1843.
