a Protestant theologian of Germany, a son of Hermann, was born at Dresden, February 14, 1837. He studied at Jena and Leipsic, was in 1860 appointed catechist of St. Peter's at Leipsic, and, in 1865 pastor of St. John's there. In 1867 he commenced his lectures at the University of Leipsic by publishing his Nicolai Cusani de Concilii Universalis Potestate Sententia Explicatur. In 1871 he was appointed professor extraordinarius, and died November 10, 1877.
