a Presbyterian minister was born in Bedford County, Virginia, November 18, 1766. He was educated at Washington College; was licensed by the Hanover Presbytery in April 1793, and labored as a missionary in Eastern Virginia until 1796, at which time he accepted a call to become the pastor of the Presbyterian congregation of New Providence.
