an English Congregational minister, was born at West Monkton, near Taunton, Aug. 18,1792. He received a religious training, joined the Church early in life, and was educated for the ministry at Hoxton College, entering in September, 1820. He settled at Finchingfield, Essex, on completing his course, and labored there eight years, when a severe affection of the eyes compelled him to resign. After a rest of two or three years, he resumed the ministerial office at Croydon; but his affliction again caused his resignation in 1840. His labors after this were only occasional.
