a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Greensboro, Ky., Oct. 8, 1809. He embraced religion in Texas in 1843, - was licensed to preach in 1844, and in 1845 joined the East Texas Conference. He continued to fill the appointments assigned him as circuit and station preacher, presiding elder and president of Fowler Institute, until 1871, when he became superannuated, a relation which he held to the close of his life, Oct. 15, 1873.
