a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Chatham County, N. C., Nov. 15,1847. He was eminently pious in youth, received license to preach in 1866, and in 1867 entered the North Carolina Conference. In its active ranks he toiled until his death, July 11, 1871.
