Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an English engraver, was born in London in 1743, and was instructed by his uncle, an obscure artist. In 1770 he went to Paris, and became a scholar of Aliamet. The following are some of his principal plates: The Flight into Egypt; Abraham and Lot Quitting Egypt; A Sea-piece; The Death of Captain Cook. He died in London in 1805. See Spooner, Biog.
