Candale (Or Candella), Francois Hussates

(or DE FOIX, count of), a French prelate and mathematician, was born in 1502, and died Feb. 5,1594. He was bishop of Aire, in Gascoigne, and a commander of the royal orders. Being an amateur of mathematical sciences, he established a chair at the University of Bordeaux.
