a French martyr, was a physician in Dijois, who visited the prisoners in their filthy cells and sang psalms and did whatever he could to comfort them. He taught the commandments to those who did not already know them. When the time of his examination came lie perceived that the judges had intended that, if he would recant, he should be strangled, and if not, he should burn alive and his tongue be cut out; and being content to suffer these torments for his Lord Jesus Christ, he offered his tongue willingly to the hangman to be cut.
