Clark, Peter

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Congregational minister, was a native of Watertown, Mass., born 1693, graduated at Harvard 1712, and was ordained pastor in Salem village (now Danvers) June 3, 1717. He published several controversial pamphlets concerning "Original Sin" in opposition to the Rev. Samuel Webster and Dr. Chauncy (1757-1760); Scripture Grounds of the Baptism of Christian Infants asserted and defended in a Letter, etc. (1735); also several occasional sermons.
