a Baptist minister, was born in Charlotte County, Va., March 5, 1801, and united with the Church in 1827. In 1832 he removed to Carroll County, Tenn. He began to preach in 1842, and his pastorates were New Hope, Eldad, Turkey Creek, Chapel Hill, and Boiling Springs. Having acquired a good estate, he preached almost gratuitously.
