Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an English Wesleyan preacher, a native of North Britain, was converted young; began his ministry in 1741, and died at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, October 6, 1765. He was the oldest preacher in the connection. His abilities were extraordinary; he was very popular, and his conversation wonderfully pleasant and instructive. See Atmore, Meth.
