a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Charleston County, South Carolina, September 18, 1799. He was converted in 1827, joined the South Carolina Conference in 1828, and continued in the regular work of the ministry until 1877, when he was placed on the superannuated list. During the greater part of this time he was a missionary to the blacks on the Atlantic coast. He died in Florence, S.C., September 29, 1880.
